Hunting is nowadays considered the ritualised performance of an activity which in bygone days was the response to a fundamental human need. The subject makes frequent appearance in the history of art, from cave paintings up to the 19th century, passing by the Renaissance. Trine Søndergaard & Nicolai Howalt set about replacing the subject within a modern context.

Les Filles du Calvaire Gallery is offering an extraordinary perspective on the work of Corinne Mercadier at a pivotal moment of her career. At the same time as a first retrospective of her work was being held in France, the language of Corinne Mercadier was forced to radically change, confronted with the disappearance of the techniques which she had hitherto been using.

Each employs different approaches and strategies, drawing on areas such as performances, anthropology, and art history to generate images that are visually arresting while tantalizingly evasive.

Jeune Création, an international exhibition of contemporary art, is unveiling the original projects of around 60 young French and overseas artists, centred around an artistic program described as perspicacious, experimental and audacious. Paintings, sculptures, photos, drawings, videos and installations all compete for space at the Écuries du Centquatre.
