This is not a book - Rosascape

This is not a book

This is is not a book showcases the entire collection of books published and produced by Rosascape since its establishment in 2009. The very title of the exhibition suggests an understanding of the book as a space for the creation and exhibition of a work in its own right — as a total redefinition of the very nature of the book.

Brainbow, une proposition de Bertrand Grimont et Le Châlet - Bertrand Grimont Gallery

Brainbow, une proposition de Bertrand Grimont et Le Châlet

What is extraordinary about neurones is that they are essentials to us and yet go beyond our senses. The Brainbow imagery system makes neuronal connections visible : they appear as pixels, color dots that nothing but piling up and looking from a distance can reveal as a consistent whole.

Lest — Alun Williams

7 PM → 9 PM

Wim Delvoye - Le Louvre

Wim Delvoye — Au Louvre

The Louvre invites Wim Delvoye to intervene at various locations within the museum and nearby: under the Pyramid, in the Napoleon III apartments, in the Gothic galleries of the Department of Decorative Arts, and in the Tuileries gardens. Wim Delvoye is the second artist, after Tony Cragg in 2011, to create a new, monumental sculpture.

Guillaume Bresson - Nathalie Obadia Gallery

Guillaume Bresson

The paintings by Guillaume Bresson combine formal harmony and narrative quirkiness, making the artist a worthy heir of the literary and cinematographic avant-gardes. The exhibition broadens processes and sources of creativity, emphasising friction between the representations and space-time.

Fil sensible - LWS Gallery

Gathering François Génot, Muriel Moreau and Line Orcière in the same exhibition was obvious. Their work follow a thread of similar sensitivities, which are always developed in contact with nature, then refined and sharp when drawing.

Skall - Patricia Dorfmann Gallery

Skall — Sarira

Marcello Cinque

In his monochrome sculptures, white, black, red or blue, Marcello Cinque experiments new materials such as elastic paint and sponge rubber. This material, being able to wrap and roll around itself as if squeezed out of a thick tube of paint, can create real “post-lunar” forms which nullify the laws of gravity.

Pièce Unique Gallery

Thomas Lerooy - Nathalie Obadia Gallery

Thomas Lerooy — Souvenir

After the success of the exhibition “The Garden of Exile” in 2010, which invited visitors to take part in a metaphysical meditation on the themes of creation, desire and captivity, the Belgian artist Thomas Lerooy continues to probe the inner frontiers of human experience with two sculptures and a set of new drawings on the theme of memory, “Souvenir”.

By reinventing an obsolete low-tech sound wave generator in this all-digital age, Bzzz ! serves as a commentary on the history of technology and a tribute to unprocessed, unsampled analog sound : in a word, the raw sound of electricity.

Mrzyk & Moriceau - Air de Paris Gallery

Mrzyk & Moriceau — Poppies are also Flowers 4/4

You have to know how to get things over and done with. Bring everything out. Or put everything back in, who knows? For Mrzyk & Moriceau everything starts with the drawing all their three-dimensional works return to. Literally.

Air de Paris Gallery

Leonor Antunes - Air de Paris Gallery

Leonor Antunes — the parallel bars

For her second exhibition at Air de Paris, Leonor Antunes is presenting a series of new sculptures based on the measurements of specific Modernist buildings. Works that are reversals of reversals: nothing less than taking the anti-Modernist gambit.

Air de Paris Gallery

Albert Moser - Christian berst art brut (klein et berst)

Albert Moser — Life as a panoramic

The work of Albert Moser, a creator as lacking in learning as he is guarded, is a major discovery. Now that his work is revealed, the eternal question arises again of how such work, designed and stored in secret, should be received. Next, Moser’s creations forcefully pose questions about the problem of photography in outsider art.

Summer Camps - Suzanne Tarasieve

Summer Camps — Rêveries américaines sur l’adolescence

America always looks ahead. Here there is no history, no heritage or past to weigh down the now. “Teenagers are the future,” say the Americans. And, objectively, itʼs perfectly true. Larry Clark was one of the first to be fascinated by and attempt to relive this period that he always felt he missed out on. Young artists on the US scene always look to teenagers.

Suzanne Tarasieve

Adi Nes - Praz-Delavallade Gallery

Adi Nes — The Village

For his third show at Praz-Delavallade Gallery, Adi Nes presents a selection of photographs from his new series The Village. As in previous bodies of work, Adi Nes evokes the notions of identity and masculinity, however The Village distinguishes itself by being situated in the open country, and more importantly by its references to Greek tragedy.

Stephen Maas - Bernard Jordan Gallery

Stephen Maas — What Remains

Seuils — Morgane Tschiember

Morgane Tschiember explores the performative qualities of materials, whether with added value or worthless — metal, foam, glass, plastic — which she subjects to all kinds of impacts. Each of her works conceals a series of various efficient actions which form a sort of subtext for it. She unveils the “making” at work behind the forms she produces.
