Commissioned by Le Quartier (Quimper), Jean-Marc Chapoulie inhabited a closed space — the Cinémathèque de Bretagne — on several occasions. Le mariage de Cathy et Jean-Paul is the textual and visual narrative of what he was able to experience, to discover, to see in that space.

The New Worlds and the Old presents about twenty recent works — mainly art films. The exhibition is conceived as a series of chapters spread over a period of three months. It is part of Interior Empires, a season dedicated to a re-reading of colonial heritage in the present.

(French only) Suspendre le temps… Au commencement, pour Joël Besse, il y a ces plis et replis, souvent complexes et presque toujours géométriques, qui animent de petites bandes ou carrés de papier comme pour les éveiller à eux-mêmes. La couleur, posée selon le cas avant ou après pliages, participe à l’aventure. Naissent ainsi de bien étranges objets.

Laurent Grasso has conceived his exhibition around the recurring concerns of his work, in which the relation to time and temporality becomes uncertain, as is the origin of the objects he creates. His exhibition devices always change the architecture of the host space and his pieces challenge the viewer’s perceptions.
