Thomas Tronel-Gauthier — Ce que j’ai vu n’existe plus

Thomas Tronel-Gauthier’s work is the translation of an experience: the encounter with a landscape. From the North of France to the Marquesas Islands, via Thailand, the artist invites us to join him on his journey. Using sculpture, photography, video and installations he recreates fragments from land and seascape.

Pliure.

Asako Shimizu - NextLevel Gallery

Asako Shimizu — Storyteller

At first glance, Asako Shimizu’s latest photographs seem filled with silence, asleep under a thick blanket formed by the whirling snow. Yet, as their title suggests, these images tell us a story, inviting us along the snowy roads of Northern Japan, listening for the whispers of the universe.

Min Jung-Yeon - Maria Lund Gallery

Min Jung-Yeon — Hier je comprenais mieux aujourd’hui

For a long time now, travel, exile and explorations of identity have been key themes in Min Jung-Yeon’s work. In this vein, before creating the ensemble exhibited for “Yesterday I better understood today”, the artist created a series entitled The Road (La route). In these works, she speaks about her move from Paris to the South.

Beverly Baker — Palimpseste

Beverly Baker’s drawings are created through the obsessive layering of text found in a small selection of books and magazines that she uses as reference material. The final abstract compositions generally retain only faint clues of their genesis in language as Baker draws continuously on the same sheet.

Feu(x) - Marine Veilleux Gallery

Feu(x)

Céline Vaché-Olivieri collaborates with Antoine Barberon, Estelle Deschamp and Colombe Marcasiano and proposes three installations. ‘Feu(x)’ highlights the fusions which take place in collaborative work and which wouldn’t resolve were there only one single and unique origin. It is these influences and exchanges which are made sense of in the exhibition.

Contact(s) - Jérôme Poggi Gallery

Contact(s)

Entitled “contact (s)”, the exhibition brings together six young artists whose works question the usual distance required for the perception and representation of things. Without recoiling, working as close as possible to the object they are observing, artists act in the same way to contact with the world and objects.

Angels with dirty faces - Les filles du calvaire Gallery

Angels with dirty faces

The first of a series of meditations dedicated to the body’s struggle in crisis stricken contexts, this narrative exhibition associates a film score with texts through which one experiences the vital power of lamentation. A distant echo of blues music. A musical genre whose purpose is an expanding rebellion. The discordant sound of a bottleneck guitar.
