Tania Mouraud

MAC VAL Musée d'art contemporain du Val-de-Marne
Slash  /  Événement On the occasion of the Tania Mouraud exhibition, the MAC/VAL is putting on a weekend of performances, concerts, installations, and screenings. A major figure in French contemporary art, her art mostly explored the human condition. Like a paintbrush on canvas, Mouraud uses her camera to capture reality and make a statement. The bulldozers grinding through books at a frantic pace cannot help but call up other images of History in our collective memory.

Rodolf Hervé - Les Douches la Galerie

Rodolf Hervé — On the Ground (1989-1994)

The gallery ‘Les Douches’ presents a solo exhibition by Rodolf Hervé, uniting his photographs taken in Budapest as well a collection of his films. While Hungary has been subject to a number of years of democratic transition, a new kind of ‘underground’ culture has been developing, which the artist has documented from one day to the next.

Marcelline Delbecq, Silence Trompeur - Fondation d’entreprise Pernod Ricard

Marcelline Delbecq, Silence Trompeur

For the past ten years, Marcelline Delbecq’s praxis has been slowly shifting from taking photos to taking notes. In her work, the issue of the image is incarnated in an essentially narrative form, a writing imbued with movements and freeze frames, past and present, fiction and reality.

(un mural, des tableaux) - Frac île-de-france, le Plateau

(un mural, des tableaux)

As explicitly indicated by its title, the exhibition [un mural, des tableaux] is dedicated exclusively to painting. The exhibition indiscriminately presents paintings from across the very diverse fields of pictorial creation, from the most radical abstraction to the most unfettered figuration.

Frac île-de-france, le Plateau

Pierre Mabille - Jean Fournier Gallery

Pierre Mabille — chercher une forme

Since 1997 Mabille has been concentrating on repeated exploration of a single form, one which came to him for the first time when reading Fernando Pessoa’s poem ’The Tobacco Shop’, in which the shop sign functions as a visual trigger for the poem’s narrative development.

Jean Fournier Gallery

Georges Noël - Musée d’Art Moderne de la ville de Paris

Georges Noël — La traversée des signes

This presentation within the permanent collection takes the viewer through a highly distinctive oeuvre with links to the avant-gardes. With restless strokes cutting into a dense mix of sand and pure pigment, Georges Noël works and reworks his surfaces, endlessly overlaying and eliminating in a return to the principle of the palimpsest.

Marion Laval-Jeantet et Benoît Mangin (Art Orienté Objet) - La Maréchalerie

Marion Laval-Jeantet et Benoît Mangin (Art Orienté Objet) — Andachtsraum

Warburg, the renowned German art historian, compares the Hopi culture to the possible expression of a space of contemplation where the link between myth and nature is yet unbroken. An indispensable space for constructing a thinking space and restoring his period of time back to health. The 2 artists output centres on this thinking.

La Maréchalerie

Jenny Brady - Centre culturel irlandais

Jenny Brady — The Meta-perception Club

Jenny Brady explores ideas around translation, perception and language. She will present two works “Technology Autonomous (2011)” which documents the construction of a holographic image together with “Wow and Flutter (2013)”, a film that investigates our depiction and understanding of animal cognition.

Centre culturel irlandais

Scroll infini - La Galerie, centre d’art contemporain

Scroll infini

Infinite scroll is a form of Internet navigation in which images load as you go along, creating the illusion of a page without end and generating a mixed sense of profusion and frustration. This exhibition experiments with various freeze frames as part of the season, exploring the presence of images today and their modes of persistence
