The gallery ‘Les Douches’ presents a solo exhibition by Rodolf Hervé, uniting his photographs taken in Budapest as well a collection of his films. While Hungary has been subject to a number of years of democratic transition, a new kind of ‘underground’ culture has been developing, which the artist has documented from one day to the next.

This presentation within the permanent collection takes the viewer through a highly distinctive oeuvre with links to the avant-gardes. With restless strokes cutting into a dense mix of sand and pure pigment, Georges Noël works and reworks his surfaces, endlessly overlaying and eliminating in a return to the principle of the palimpsest.

Warburg, the renowned German art historian, compares the Hopi culture to the possible expression of a space of contemplation where the link between myth and nature is yet unbroken. An indispensable space for constructing a thinking space and restoring his period of time back to health. The 2 artists output centres on this thinking.

Infinite scroll is a form of Internet navigation in which images load as you go along, creating the illusion of a page without end and generating a mixed sense of profusion and frustration. This exhibition experiments with various freeze frames as part of the season, exploring the presence of images today and their modes of persistence
