Olivier Saillard & Tilda Swinton - École nationale des Beaux Arts de Paris — Cabinet des dessins

Olivier Saillard & Tilda Swinton — Eternity Dress

Opposing the profusion of fashion collections, Eternity Dress follows the design of one dress — made on Tilda Swinton’s body — from the measuring up to the creation of the pattern, from the cut to the sewing together. Inspired by a 1950s method found in the museum’s collections, the dress resonates with the history of fashion and initiates an archaeology of the craft.

Peter Soriano — Panorama

Made specifically for the exhibition, the large wall painting shows us what the artist sees from his studio in Maine, overlooking four steep rock faces that recur in the composition as irregular quadrilaterals. The artist considers his wall paintings as landscapes, whence the exhibition’s title: Panorama.

Révolte Logique, part II — Slave to Art

At one point during our conversation, he had said jokingly, “Ah, but I have power over you?” Without thinking, I had answered, “No, you don’t, because I would never show you my work” — Adrian Piper, Pontus Hulten’s Slave to Art, 1982.

Knopp Ferro - Catherine Putman Gallery

Knopp Ferro — Lines, sculptures et dessins

Knopp Ferro’s works embody lightness, movement and transparency as reflected in his mobiles composed of thin iron rods. His sensibility is revealed in his drawings, which he considers as movement per se. Ink drawings inform his sculpture without being preparatory works; knife drawings reveal the paper’s plasticity and create reliefs, thus leading back to sculpture.

Andreï Molodkin - Patricia Dorfmann Gallery

Andreï Molodkin — Immigrant Blood

As the project’s central element, the artist will be inviting asylum seekers to donate their blood on site, pouring it directly inside of this active installation. He engages with escalating social tensions currently at the forefront of media reportage in Paris: rising levels of illegal immigration, denied asylum and, as a result, controversial deportations.

Micky Clément - Galerie Derouillon

Micky Clément — Les promesses de l’aube

Micky Clément tracks down the moment where light reveals the close duality of the elements. Happiness and fear, water and the sky, are among the boundaries transgressed by the artist’s lens, tracing the evanescent theatre of shadow and light containing deserted scenes and seeking to recapture dawn up until nightfall.

Ines Silva
