Opposing the profusion of fashion collections, Eternity Dress follows the design of one dress — made on Tilda Swinton’s body — from the measuring up to the creation of the pattern, from the cut to the sewing together. Inspired by a 1950s method found in the museum’s collections, the dress resonates with the history of fashion and initiates an archaeology of the craft.

Made specifically for the exhibition, the large wall painting shows us what the artist sees from his studio in Maine, overlooking four steep rock faces that recur in the composition as irregular quadrilaterals. The artist considers his wall paintings as landscapes, whence the exhibition’s title: Panorama.

Knopp Ferro’s works embody lightness, movement and transparency as reflected in his mobiles composed of thin iron rods.
His sensibility is revealed in his drawings, which he considers as movement per se. Ink drawings inform his sculpture without being preparatory works; knife drawings reveal the paper’s plasticity and create reliefs, thus leading back to sculpture.

As the project’s central element, the artist will be inviting asylum seekers to donate their blood on site, pouring it directly inside of this active installation. He engages with escalating social tensions currently at the forefront of media reportage in Paris: rising levels of illegal immigration, denied asylum and, as a result, controversial deportations.

Micky Clément tracks down the moment where light reveals the close duality of the elements.
