Gotscho’s video installation presented at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie is a corner work, consisting of two short films, designed to be shown simultaneously. The two films exhibit complementary destruction and reconstruction. We see Anouk Féral’s face in each of the films and in the entirety, the one and the same face.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie presents 16 black and white photographs taken by the ethnologist, documentary maker and photographer Carlos Fausto since 2000, during his research with the Kuikuro at the Xingu national park, in South Amazonia.

During a long period of peace in Japan, the Kanazawa Samurai successfully established their own culture. Warriors’ armour, swords and helmets are of course shown at this exhibition. There are also a significant number of art exhibits associated with the tea ceremony as well as with Noh Theatre, its splendid masks and kimonos.

Erwin Olaf has taken twenty photographs and one installation for Berlin, his latest series. There are seven scenes, thirteen portraits and two self-portraits. Berlin was created for the Johannes Vermeer prize, which was awarded to Olaf in 2011.
