The Centre Pompidou pays tribute to one of the most complex and prolific artists of the 20th century: Salvador Dali. Dali is one of the undisputed masters in the history of modern art and one of its most popular figures at the same time. A highly controversial artist, his theatricality and greed as well as his provocative political stances were often derided.

For the first time in France, the Louvre presents an exhibition dedicated to the art of Johann Georg Pinsel, who was active in the mid-eighteenth century in Galicia. The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to view thirty of the artist’s sculptures, most of them in wood, a number of which include polychrome or gilt decoration.

Xpo Gallery presents the first Paris show of Joe Clark. The artist’s work orbits the photographic image, testing his relationship to it by approaching it’s making and display from various formal and technical perspectives. This body of work pays particular attention to the exotic and the creation of desire and otherness.

— Stig Dagerman

Before the inauguration of his solo show at Galerie Georges-Philippe et Nathalie Vallois by Paul Kos, this Californian artist has been known in France essentially through a few emblematic pieces seen in group shows, and because of his presence in collections such as the Fondation Kadist and the Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain Lorraine.

Agreeing to curate this show, in the period that straddles the waning year, validates my claim to stake a presence at the very heart of this turning point, filled, to be sure, with happy remembrances but also with the recall of more somber ones. A bittersweet nostalgia haunts my soul, fueled by memories of two books.

During the night at Colinière, the pilot, the marquise and their guests act like children, to escape the thought that the world is on the verge of ruin. On the eve of the apocalypse, they meet for a hunt, a perfect alibi for amorous to-ings and fro-ings amongst the elite.
