September represents the return of Paris to the art world, which means a lot of exciting upcoming art events. Most notably, the international art fair FIAC 2010 will be taking place October 21st – 24th in Paris. As an official sponsor of its 37th season, we’ll be bringing the latest and greatest news on FIAC over the course of the coming weeks.

The first element of uncertainty regarding Nicolas Guiet’s paintings is their fit with the “picture” category. His works aren’t flat, their format isn’t quadrangular, they harbour neither figures nor technical accomplishment, and they hang in cavities and corners rather than in the middle of walls.

The Catherine Putman Gallery, French publisher of Georg Baselitz since 1997, is to unveil a new original series of 6 xylographies, each of which consisting of 6 variations. Georg Baselitz’s first solo exhibition, held at the Werner & Katz Gallery in Berlin in 1963, provoked such an outrage that some of his paintings were confiscated on ground of public indecency.
